Beautiful and Yummy

The beautiful sky I got to look at Friday morning. Doing dishes isnt' so bad if you get to look up and see this. It was actually much pinker than my picture through the window shows.





Brad smoked a pork shoulder on sunday and it was delicious!! I thought I would share that picture with everyone as well.

Apple Picking

My parents took Eric apple picking last weekend. He has done this two years in a row and seems to enjoy it. Of course, we enjoy the apples. I also want to point out that my Mom took these pictures, and they are by far the best photos she's ever taken. Good job!

So with all these apples I have been busy everyday making something. I've made some apple pie filling and put in the freezer for holiday time. Yesterday I made some yummy apple bread and then a apple cake. I have been so busy that I ran out of brown sugar, white sugar and cinnamon. This morning I decided to pack up the little kiddos and make a quick trip to walmart to get more supplies.....I am so puzzled by my trip......

The walmart brand of brown sugar and white sugar were more than C&H Brand. And before you ask, yes I did double and triple check the size. I found this strange. I am all about cutting back on things these days, and I often buy store brands, but today I didn't.

Then when I got to the register they asked if I found everything I was looking for. I said yes, when actually I didn't. I was going to make some apple butter and needed some canning jars, but I didn't find them. I didn't look really hard, and didn't ask anyone. I tend to be in a hurry when I take both little ones out. So I got to thinking on my way home....do they really care if I found what I wanted?? If I didn't were they going to find it for me? And hold up the line and make everyone grumpy? I know they are trying to be nice and everything, but in all honesty, do they really need to ask that question? I know, they are trained to....I'm all done!!!
